A Common Thread, the charitable platform created by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, has a new collaboration with the online fundraising platform Omaze. It’s called Act for Good, and basically you can enter for the chance to win various experiences with notable friends of Vogue. All donations go to support A Common Thread.
Starting today, a new experience will be announced each week. First up is a chance to accompany Annie Leibovitz on a photo shoot for Vogue, as well as receive a signed copy of her book. Other prizes will be announced over the next month and include experiences with Vogue editor Anna Wintour, beauty guru Huda Kattan, designer Tom Ford, and more.
“The industry is still facing hard challenges and the mission of A Common Thread is as vital today as it was when we started,” said Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA. “Working with Omaze to raise additional funds helps increase our grant-making while giving people a chance to win one-of-a-kind experiences.”
Since its inception in April, A Common Thread has raised more than $4 million that will go to American designers in a series of micro grants. The fund has received generous contributions from Ralph Lauren, the parent company of Tommy Hilfiger, and Amazon, among others. But this initiative particularly incentivizes the small donors. Donate $5 and you’re entered for the chance to be Annie Leibovitz’s VIP guest on a photo shoot. You can enter at omaze.com/annie.
